Please be informed that the new SSR code INST is implemented by IATA as follows.
1. Outline
Currently, the infants occupying a seat uses the SSR INFT with the free text "OCCUPYING SEAT" (hereinafter, this is called conventional format), but it has been confused with the infants not occupying a seat in some cases such as inputted with incorrect formatting of free text. To solve this issue, IATA has implemented a new dedicated SSR code INST for infants occupying a seat.
SSR INST has been available from June 1, 2025. However, due to system development is needed by each carrier, the conventional format will be permitted to use in parallel until May 31, 2026.
Since the reservation and Airport systems of ANA are not ready to use SSR INST, please continue to use the conventional format and follow the handing below until further notice.
