Temporary Suspension of Entry to Japan from All Countries and Territories

As of October 1, 2020, entry to Japan has been permitted as a general rule from all countries and territories on the condition that the host company or organization is implementing measures to prevent COVID-19 infection.

However, new entry to Japan under this system will be denied from all countries and territories between December 28, 2020 and the end of January 2021. As a general rule, holders of visas issued under the above system are allowed to enter Japan, excluding cases where non-Japanese nationals are entering Japan after having visited a country or territory at Infectious Disease Risk Information Level 3 or above within the 14 days prior to the date of application for landing in Japan.
